The house style is traditional with a contemporary edge, and the counter is used to being told &#8220;something classic&#8221; or &#8220;something modern&#8221; and getting on with it. Sympathy and funeral arrangements are part of the same everyday range, sent to Dallas funeral homes and to families at home.<\/p>\n<p>The planned half of the business is larger than it looks. The shop has worked with Dallas brides for more than seventy years and takes weddings at any scale \u2014 a handful of bouquets, or a venue filled out with arches and table work. Corporate and business deliveries have grown into a steady share of the week. The company has also handled the city&#8217;s set pieces: the F\u00eate des Fleurs at Neiman Marcus, the Junior League of Dallas centennial gala and, by the family&#8217;s account, personal flowers for every sitting president who has passed through Dallas since 1948.<\/p>\n<p>Then there is the season no other state has. Homecoming mums \u2014 the ribboned, oversized corsages Texas high-schoolers wear in the fall \u2014 are built here, and have been for long enough that families bring in the mums made decades ago for a grandmother and a mother and ask for a third to match.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Delivery_and_same-day_orders\"><\/span>Delivery and same-day orders<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Orders placed before 2 p.m. go out the same day across Dallas, and the delivery map runs well past the city line into Garland, Richardson, Plano and Frisco. Deliveries are made by the shop&#8217;s own drivers on its own routing system \u2014 Bruce McShan computerized ordering and dispatch back in the mid-1990s, which is why a heavy day still moves.<\/p>\n<p>Two Dallas realities are worth planning around. From June through September an arrangement&#8217;s worst enemy is the ten minutes it spends waiting on a doorstep, so send to an address where somebody can carry it inside, or leave a delivery note. And on Valentine&#8217;s Day volume rises roughly eight-fold; the shop simply stops taking orders once the day is full. The gift side is genuinely stocked \u2014 potted plants, dish gardens, silk and dried designs, fruit and gourmet baskets \u2014 which covers the housewarming, the new office and the thank-you errand in one stop. The florist&#8217;s year has four walls: Valentine&#8217;s Day, Mother&#8217;s Day, homecoming through September and October, and the December holidays, with spring and fall weddings filling the Saturdays between.
